Balancing the fun of travel with the formality of finance was an enjoyable challenge. Where possible we separated the two, using defined colour schemes for each.
I oversaw an updated payment card design working closely with Mastercard™ partners. We shifted the layout to portrait to match how cards are used in the modern world.
The new card design used a mesh-gradient of the brand's colours to represent the colourful memories of travel, and the plain white background mimics our everyday non-travel life which helps these memories stand out.
Introducing a new feature designed to mimic the currency trading floor, we used a sentence structure input to simplify the complex world of global currency trading, so the average user can become a forex genius.
User research placed 'trust' highly as a required attribute. Following subconscious colour messaging theory, blue tones were chosen to imply a sense of financial trust, whilst maintaining a playful overall mood.
